County Kildare LEADER Partnership launches new promotional video and Social Enterprise Regeneration Programme for Kildare Social Enterprise
County Kildare LEADER Partnership (CKLP) has launched a new promotional video on Social Enterprise in County Kildare. features four examples of highly innovative and successful social enterprise in the county including The Old Hardware in Narraghmore Village, Sensational Kids, McAuley Place in Naas Town and Lullymore Heritage and Discovery Park. These four enterprises have been developed as a response to local needs and have a strong social impact.
The video produced by Sam Whelan-Curtin, also highlights the role of County Kildare LEADER Partnership in supporting social enterprise over the last ten years. This has included a highly successful training programme in 2018, and the approval of grant assistance towards several social enterprises under the LEADER Programme as well as supporting social enterprises to avail of the Small Capital Grants Scheme funded by the Department of Community and Rural Development (DRCD). County Kildare LEADER Partnership also provided a training and mentoring programme during 2020 and 2021, funded by DRCD as well as SICAP, Tús and the Rural Social Scheme.
Speaking at an online Social Enterprise networking session to launch the video, Pat Leogue, General Manager of CKLP said ‘County Kildare LEADER Partnership has been supporting Social Enterprise for the past ten years and we plan to continue to support existing and new Social Enterprises as we move out of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that Social Enterprises will avail of our supports and form a network as we move forward’.
CKLP has also launched a new Social Enterprise Regeneration Programme in response to the COVID-19 pandemic through funding approved under the Dormant Accounts Fund. Training and mentoring support is now available for Social Enterprises particularly in the following areas: Social Enterprise Networking, Financial Management, Business Planning, Income Diversification, Digital and Online Marketing and Health & Safety.
