Walking Tours to remember forever.

Discover the joys of the Barrow Blueway, a 46km flat, off-road public space perfect for walkers, accessible all-year round, that meanders its way through the heart of Kildare from historical towns to ancient landscapes.

This dedicated route alongside the Barrow line of the Grand Canal starts at Robertstown/Lowtown and passes through the towns of Rathangan, Monasterevin, Vicarstown and ends in Athy.

Step back in History and learn about the people who were instrumental in the development of the canal network that proceeded the industrialisation of Ireland.

Soak up the flora and fauna, music, art and culture of the inland waterways and the boat stories.

Join our tour guides as they animate and recount the forgotten stories of the boatmen, rebels and local legends that lived along the banks.

This tourism initiative is a County Kildare LEADER Partnership project, that has been developed in conjunction with Waterways Ireland, Kildare Sports Partnership and Department of Social Protection.
